Knowing when to go and when to stop. 11/30/2009
Did you know that sometimes the answer to the great time management question: - ‘What is the best use of my time ~ NOW’, is to do NOTHING? "Wisdom is the power to put our time and our knowledge to the proper use" Thomas John Watson (1874-1956), founder of IBM Sometimes when we are overwhelmed and there seems to be too much to do, and it all seems urgent, it is a time to stop, take a break, rest, relax, do some leisure, pleasure activities, then in a state of relaxation, we begin to reformulate our goal, our priorities. It is when I am rested I can best see how I can apply the tools of time management to my many tasks and accomplish more by working more effectively, not harder, at what I want to do. By asking yourself Lakein's question "What is the best use of my time right now?" and doing the task that best fills your time at that particular moment you will increase your overall efficiency. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getting_Things_Done http://www.amazon.com/Control-Your-Time-Life-Signet/dp/0451167724 Add Comment Described as a ‘living fossil’ The Wollemi Pine was first discovered in 1994, growing in a deep, narrow canyon of the rugged Wollemi National Park. They now call this rare tree, which dates back to the time of the dinosaurs, Wollemia nobilis or the Wollemi Pine. The dramatic discovery of an evolutionary line thought to be long extinct is even more remarkable with these tall and striking trees growing only 150 km from Sydney, the largest city in Australia. They were found in the extremely rugged Wollemi National Park, a largely undisturbed wilderness area and their exact location is being kept as secret as it can be to protect this last natural stand of these trees. Because it is rare and endangered, it is being commercially to ensure the survival of the species. It is available through selected nurseries. While it is an enormous tree when allowed to grow to its full potential in nature, it’s growth will be controlled if it is grown in pots and it is available as a bonsai kit, also. I am thinking ‘what an amazing truly Australian Christmas tree it would make and a very decorative courtyard or patio plant for the remainder of the year’. I went to the Garden Express nursery in the Dandenong ranges, on Tuesday and I saw beautiful examples of Wollemi Pine being packed for shipment to buyers. The price was considerably more affordable than when these trees were originally released for sale just a couple of years ago. In this era when we learn of species, becoming extinct to find a new species and be a part of its survival is I think an inspirational life story. My camera needs replacing; it chose, Tuesday to misbehave. The Garden Express nursery has some better illustrations of the Woolemi Pine and you are also able to mail order these trees, from them and by growing one, help ensure the survival of this rare species of tree. I am not into fancy gourmet restaurant meals. Natures fruit picked ripe from a garden is the gourmet experience, I crave. I had never grown Patio Tomatoes before. I bought one to try this year, planted it in my courtyard, near my bath. lol, J Now I have the decadent experience of reclining in a bath in my courtyard garden, under a shade canopy, reaching out and picking ripe patio tomatoes and snow peas and eating them fresh plucked. J. Now that is my idea of fine dining. J I had not realized what a small compact bush they made or how early, the fruit would ripen. By mid November, I have been harvesting salad vegetables from my garden. Next year I plan a border of Patio Tomatoes, they are an attractive easy to grow, productive border plant. The taste of home grown produce, picked ripe from the bush, eaten within moments of plucking can hardly be equalled. Trees! 11/17/2009
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth's sweet flowing breast; A tree that may in Summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Life! 11/14/2009
Synonyms party verve human circumstances survival impulse esprit Life is a winter holiday, in a warm climate like here, on the beach at Barn Hill Station, just south of Broome in Western Australia, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Life is also the deep crevices between the highs. You do not need to srtuggle in these alone. Life is easier if you stretch out your hand and grasp a waiting hand reaching out beyond the blue, to haul you up when you are low. Life is easy when you walk on smooth soft firm surface, side by side with those you love. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend. -- Albert Camus Life is exhilarating when we have a varied terrain to navigate, of exciting new challenges and vistas. When the terrain looks too steep or rough, when the goal looks to far away or hard to achieve, try breaking it down into a 10% change for the better, starting now, rather than feeling you having to tackle that mountain today, feeling overwhelmed and not ever beginning. | Art & Art Print Gifts can be viewed & purchased from
