Venus Envy, the bath and body store in Gull Harbor, Washington, takes care of residents' beauty needs. Behind the counter is Persia Vanderbilt, a woman with a nose for mixing scents and a mind for solving murder. This first in a new series includes beauty and spa tips.  I think this sounds interesting.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 in Australian Release & Wall Calendar, 2012 11/19/2011

_There is little else being talked about on facebook this morning or on the morning shows than the fact that the latest film in the Twilight hit franchise has once again stuck its fangs into the box office as Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has opened in the top spot at the Australian box office taking $3,699,229 on 616 screens since the film opened with midnight sessions across the country on November 17. The opening day result makes it the second biggest opening film in 2011, second only to the final Harry Potter movie which absolutely smashed box office records when it was released earlier this year pulling in $7,092 million.

In all time box office records, the film sits in eleventh position just behind Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 which made $4,047 million on its opening day.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 features the long awaited wedding of Bella and Edward and after just a couple of days of wedded bliss, the couple discover they're expecting a baby.

How did that affect me?  I am not a fan. T would have liked to see Bella 'get a life,' or at least a healthy relationship if she did feel the need to be so dependent on a boyfriend and now husband.  I think Edward is Mr Bossy britches and i'd want to slap him in the face and wash his sparkles off.  I hate coke a cola type drinks too but I do not go around telling other drinkers they shouldn't be drinking it.  Edward is a part of a paternalistic society I left behind in my childhood.  At least Jacob the Woolf man was Bella's friend not dominater.   Then he went and ruined that by falling in love with - a baby.  Now that plot line reeks of pedophilia.

Critics are slamming the film and I think the whole story line is sick but it looks like the critics and I are in the minority, the crowds cannot get enough of the lovers.

Water for Elephants: a Novel
By Sara Gruen

When Jacob Jankowski, recently orphaned and suddenly adrift, jumps onto a passing train, he enters a world of freaks, grifters, and misfits - the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth - a second-rate travelling circus struggling to survive during the Great Depression, making one-night stands in town after endless town. Jacob, a veterinary student who almost earned his degree, is put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie.

It is there that he meets Marlena, the beautiful young star of the equestrian act, who is married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. He also meets Rosie, an elephant who seems untrainable until he discovers a way to reach her. Water for Elephants is illuminated by a wonderful sense of time and place. It tells a story of a love between two people that overcomes incredible odds in a world in which even love is a luxury that few can afford.

About the Author

Sara Gruen's first bestselling novel Riding Lessons was published in 2004. She lives with her husband, three children, five cats, two goats, a dog, and a horse. Many of the characters and incidents in the novel are based on real people and true stories gleaned from her extensive research into the world of travelling circuses during the 1930s. Her latest novel, Ape House, publishes in February 2010. www.saragruen.com
