Positive Mental Attitude. 05/07/2011

My savings tip today is on saving our sanity, our lives.

I love to spend time in nature, surrounded by beauty. A time and place when I can forget about e pickpocketing  and all the trappings of daily living and to just breath deaply and enjoy the clean air and feel the beauty around me.

I know if I focused on the negative I would not be here today.  It takes more than luck and good medicine or counseling to keep the human spirit well and alive within us.  We all need to try to duck the rocks thrown our way and dwell on the positive.  We do attract and are those things we dwell on.

We are all mortal so grief and suffering is common to all.

How does the serenity prayer go?

"Grant to us the serenity of mind to accept that which cannot be changed; courage to change that which can be changed, and wisdom to know the one from the other"

I try to live by 'Dwell on all things beautiful" my favorite passage from the Bible and I have turned to that in times of extreme distress and been able to rebound.

We can live positive lives despite things beyond our control.

I'm only saying what my friend Rebecca can cleverly say in just a few well put words.  Quote below:-
"Quick suggestion, if your life is shit, do something about it."

Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.`W.Wordsworth 11/29/2010

It is the morning of the 29th November and I have won NaNoWriMo as have many of my friends and many more will make it over the winners line in these last couple of days of November and I wish you all a strong arm, clear brain and someone else to do the cooking. :-)

I will have a lovely break from writing early in December when I go and visit my daughter and celebrate a 40th bithday for my sone inlaw.  We have a perfect birthday present for him.

'Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.'

William Wordsworth

‘Writing is a deeply immersive experience.  When the words are flying, the house could be burgled and I wouldn’t notice.  I have a low boredom threshold and I like intensity – writing is a way of escaping the quotidian.’

Monica Ali

'Writing is the hardest way of earning a living, with the possible exception of wrestling alligators.'

William Saroyan

'Anyone could write a novel, given six weeks, pen, paper, and no telephone or wife.'

Evelyn Waugh

'The art of writing, like the art of love, runs all the way from a kind of routine hard to distinguish from piling bricks to a kind of frenzy closely related to delirium tremens.'

H L Mencken

'You just have to work with what God sends, and if God doesn't seem to understand the concept of commercial success, then that's your bad luck.'

Michael Frayn

Writer Quote ` Russell Barker 11/18/2010

The only thing I was fit for was to be a writer, and this notion rested solely on my suspicion that I would never be fit for real work, and that writing didn't require any.'

Russell Baker

In the last few years I have become so aware of how much work is ‘out there’ for eager and skilled writers.  Anyone who loves writing and has a unique voice can learn how to begin supplementing an income from writing as I have done in the past.  There are many stay at home mums who write md clear reviews and chat on mummy topics yet they can end up being given the use of expensive cars and computers to review and earn a good income.

Then there are many of my friends who are writing novels.  Stick with it if you love the craft of writing. It will eventually pay off for you if your heart is in it.

Winston Churchill`quote; You have enemies? Good. 11/13/2010

I like this quote.  It is not even applicable to anything in my life right now but I have a few friends who are in a situation that involves bullies in the life of family members and they may appreciate this one.  Churchill came up with some fantastic quotes; he rarely slept he was ‘on duty’, pretty well, all the time he was in office.  Even his recreation would have been spyderco military  games if they had existed in his day.

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life."
Winston S. Churchill
